We recently sent 13 Ziptrak screens to a customer of ours on Norfolk Island. They had bought traditional cafe-style blinds off us about 10 years ago and were after something that would stop the wind from getting around the edges of the screens. Ziptrak was the obvious choice!
We recently returned to the Hunting Lodge to install Ziptrak outdoor blinds along the outside edge of the Oztech retractable pergola we installed last year during their renovation of The Barn.
Each of these blinds is 4 metres wide and 2.5 metres tall. We used Ferrari Soltis 86 mesh for the blind material. Soltis 86 has excellent properties for mesh outdoor blinds, especially larger ones like these – its best characteristics being its light weight and incredible strength and dimensional stability.
When rolled up, these Ziptrak screens are undetectable. The Ziptrak units are mounted on the outside of the building in fully enclosed pelmet units. They are mounted above rather than inside the opening so that they can’t be seen. The vertical posts are also removable making the area fully open when the screens are up.
We’ve set up a demo-unit Retractable Pergola at our factory in Kingsland. It is also serving as our all-season outdoor tea room.
